Privacy policy

This notice explains how Fleur and Grey collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit this site. We are the data controller responsible for the information you provide or that we gather during your visit.

Scope of this notice

This policy applies to fleurandgrey.co.uk and covers all pages within this domain. When you browse our guides, read articles or contact us, certain information reaches our systems. This notice sets out what that information is, the legal grounds for processing it and the choices available to you.

Categories of information

We collect two kinds of data. Information you give us directly includes anything submitted through a contact form or sent by email—your name, email address and the content of your message. Information we observe automatically includes your IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on each page and the site that referred you. This data is logged by our web server and analytics tools to help us understand how the site is used and where improvements are needed.

We do not collect payment details, postal addresses or telephone numbers. We do not track you across other websites.

Lawful basis

We process your personal data under legitimate interests—operating an information site, answering enquiries and improving content based on how readers use it. Where you contact us, we rely on your consent given at the point you send your message. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected], though this will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Sharing

Your information is not sold, rented or shared with third parties for their own marketing. We share data only with processors who help us run the site: our hosting provider, which stores server logs and email; and our analytics service, which aggregates usage statistics. These processors act on our instructions and are bound by data protection agreements.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order or to protect the rights and safety of others.

Your controls

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, ask for deletion where no legal ground remains and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with details of your request. We will respond within one month.

Retention

Server logs and analytics data are kept for 12 months, then deleted. Correspondence sent to our contact address is retained for two years to maintain a record of enquiries and responses, after which it is removed from our systems. Data held for a legitimate purpose—such as an ongoing exchange of messages—is kept until that purpose ends.

Minors

This site is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received data from a child, contact us immediately so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We review this notice periodically and update it when our practices change. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

This is an information site. We do not sell goods or services.
